County Judge
As Chief Executive Officer for Your County, his duties include the authorization, approval and disbursement of all appropriated county funds, county court, custodian of county property and administrator of ordinances enacted by the Quorum Court. The Judge is also in charge of operations of the system of county roads, accepting grants from federal, state, public and private sources. He hires county employees, except those persons employed by other elected officials, and he presides over the Quorum Court, without a vote, but with the power of veto. As County Judge, he must apply for all federal and state assistance monies for which the county is eligible. He appoints members to all administrative and advisory boards in the county.
This office operates according to all constitutional and statutory provisions of law, as well as county ordinances, in concurrence with the annually approved budget.
